Yahoo is still one of the world's most popular web portals. It
was first located at Stanford University. Yahoo has regional web
sites in dozens of countries such as the UK and Australia. Yahoo
offer a wide range of features on their web sites such as one of

Yahoo have entered the search engine market by launching their
own search results in 2004,
Before this launch Yahoo had been using Google's search results
for the past two years. Yahoo led up to the launch of Yahoo Search
by buying Inktomi and Fast, who are two major search engines. The
Yahoo search results page currently (17/07/04) displays,
- Sponsored Results - paid for by businesses or organisations.
- Web Results - Combination of relevant Web pages and Web
sites provided by third-party search engine providers and the
Yahoo! Directory.
