World Wide Web

The World Wide Web is a collection of pages designed in computer languages such as HTML and PHP and connected together through hyperlinks. The World Wide Web was created in 1989 at a research institute in Switzerland and relies upon the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) to decide how applications locate and acquire resources located on other computers. The World Wide Web contains web sites such as search engines which make navigation through the vast amount of web site pages easier.
