A workstation is a high end personal computer that is used in places such as small businesses. For computer software applications that use up a lot of computer resources such as CAD (technical drawings) then a workstation computer is useful. A workstation will usually not include computer hardware such as 3D graphics cards and advanced sound cards which are mainly used for leisure activities (games) but concentrate on powerful CPU's and lots of memory for business applications.
