A web ring a group of inter related web sites linking to one another so that users can find a comprehensive resource for one subject. One problem with a web ring that can occur is that search engines such as Google may consider sites only linking to one another as trying to create higher link popularity and could penalise or ban the web sites in a web ring. It is a good idea for web sites in a web ring to make sure none have duplicated content from another web site in the web ring.
