VGA is short for "video graphics array" and is the standard monitor resolution system for PC's. VGA settings can display a range of different resolutions such as 720 by 400 and 320 by 200. VGA is now only used on older monitors with other resolution systems such as SVGA becoming more popular. VGA was developed by IBM and they introduced to their home PC's in 1987.
