Unix is a computer operating system which was developed in the 1970's by Bell Labs in the USA. Unix was developed in the C programming language and was firstly just a command line operating system (later it used graphical interfaces such as the X Window System). Due to it's implementation on lots of computer network workstations, Unix has become one of the major operating system used on the Internet.
