Unix 

Unix is a computer operating system which was developed in the 1970's by Bell Labs in the USA. Unix was developed in the C programming language and was firstly just a command line operating system (later it used graphical interfaces such as the X Window System). Due to it's implementation on lots of computer network workstations, Unix has become one of the major operating system used on the Internet. There are lots of different versions of Unix available such as a free version called Linux which has become extremely popular.
