Readme's are an essential part of computing and the Internet. A readme is usually supplied with computer software bought off the shelf or downloaded from the Internet. The readme should contain information about the software program such as system requirements, program changes, installation procedures and information about the programmers of the program and to future programmers who may try to modify the program.
