Power Supply Unit


As the name applies, the power supply unit provides the components within a computer with electrical power. A power supply unit is housed within the computer case and are usually sold with the case. One of the main functions of the power supply unit is to convert AC to DC electrical current and it also helps avoid power voltage surges and spikes. Many power supply units now provide 300 or 400 watts of power.
