Port Scanning 
 

Port scanning is a hacking technique where a "port scanning program" will search ports on a computer network for vulnerabilities. Because ports are a place where computer information is transferred it is a good place for hackers to find an entrance into a computer network or personal computer. A good way to protect yourself from port scanning is to install a firewall and to regularly to test the security of the ports on your computer network or personal computer. A regular port entrance point are USB ports and popular port scanning attacks are an ftp bounce, stealth scan and a 65,535 ports scan.
