A form of hacking only concerned with hacking phone networks. This can mean trying to run up long distance phone calls on other people accounts and stealing phone card numbers. Phreaking was made famous with the creation of 'blue boxes' with was a device for copying phone signals. However this type of technology is rarely used by present day phreakers, with phreaking now becoming a more overtly criminal act unlike in the past.
