Mosaic was the first World Wide Web browser and preceded browsers such as Netscape Navigator. The Mosaic web browser was developed at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois and is available on platforms such as X Window System, Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows.
