A type of search engine that doesn't collect it's own data but collects data from a variety of other search engines and then combines them to produce more comprehensive results. Meta Search Engines basically perform the same functions as a normal search engine to a normal user, but underneath are much different. There are plenty of search engines around that are meta search engines such as MSN which uses results from Inktomi, Looksmart, Espotting and more.
