A mainframe is a large computer which can process / support numerous programs simultaneously . Mainframe computers are very expensive and are usually only found at large companies, government buildings and universities. Like normal desktop computer, mainframe computers are continually improving and becoming more powerful with manufacturers such as IBM at the forefront of mainframe development.
