Keylogger

Keylogging software has become a real online security problem. For people using file sharing software and visiting risky parts of the Web this software can auto install itself on a computer with inadequate security. It will then record every keystroke a user makes and store them usually in an encrypted log file. The information stored can include passwords for a wide variety of online services like email accounts. Keyloggers were most likely first used as a surveillance tool for employers, this meant that companies could make sure that employees only use computers at work for business purposes.
