IBM were founded in 1911 and have since become one of the World's major manufacturers of mainframe and personal computers. IBM is short for "International Business Machines" and it's nickname is "Big Blue". Present day IBM concentrate more on large business computer systems and solutions than personal computers. One reason for this was IBM's underestimation of companies such as Microsoft, Hewlett Packard and Compaq and lost it's position as the major player in personal computer in the late 1980's.
