HTTP stands for "HyperText Transfer Protocol" and is writtern infront of a World Wide Web site address. HTTP controls the data transmitted between web site servers and browsers to decide what to display. The main jobs that HTTP does is to find and display web sites. HTTP is a protocol language which is part of the TCP/IP protocol suite.
