GNOME

GNOME is part of GNU (freely distributed software on Unix compatible systems) and is therefore free to modify, download and to distribute. You could compare GNOME to Windows operating system in that it offers a graphical interface with a range of commands and program applications. GNOME has become extremely popular and some have hoped it would replace Windows in business environments and is used on Linux and many Unix systems.
