A glitch is a term to describe when computer hardware experiences a problem, which can lead to a computer crash. They are many reasons for a computer glitch, but the most common are such things as a loose connection, a disruption in the flow of electricity (power cut or power surge) and a general computer hardware fault (usually a common hardware architecture design fault).
