After many reports of record freeze this winter I decided to plan
ahead and buy myself a warm and comfortable jacket. Of course the
reports were wrong :), but what the hell anywho. I decided to pick
a ski jacket and was recommended a Calexico by Helly Hanson at my
local adventure mounteering typo store. It does afford free movement
because it's surprisingly light, and I do not look a complete dork
in it. Of course it's waterproof so ideal for all English seasons,
and contains no end of internal and external pockets to fit in all
your bit and bobs like ipods. It comes in 4 colours - deep purple,
bluejay, angora and black. The label says it has 2-Layer HellyTech
XT stretch fabric and a LIFA Inside vent mesh for breathability.
This certainly does make for a light and airy jacket even if I don't
have a clue how it works.
