Emulation is when a computer software application tries to perform the same way as another computer software application. For example certain software applications on Unix try to emulate Microsoft Word and other Microsoft applications. Emulator is the name given the program that performs the emulation. There is a large community of emulators on the Internet that attempts to create emulators to play computer games from computer systems like the Sony Playstation and Nintendo Gamecube.
