Dos was developed for Microsoft for use on IBM compatible computers and has since become the bedrock for operating systems such as Windows 3.11 and 95. Dos is a command line operating system and is short for "disk operating system". The main problem is that Dos is only a 16 bit operating system and with the latest Windows operating systems releases like XP not relaying on Dos anymore it could soon become obsolete. |
