Beta Version / Testing

A beta version of a software application (e.g., anti virus software) is a prerelease of the official version. Beta testing is used to test whether the software application is reliable and whether it contains any errors. Software companies usually release a number of beta versions of a software application to users to test and ask for any feedback on how the application performs. Therefore improvements can be made before the official release of the software application.
