Google Chrome

Google Chrome is a Web browser which was launched in 2008. As of 2011, various studies have indicated that Chrome is used by 11% of worldwide Web surfers. The initial Beta version of Chrome was developed for use on the Microsoft Windows operating system. The current 2011 release of Chrome has versions which will work on Linux, Mac OS X and Windows.

Google's Chrome browser has been developed for simplicity and speed. Many users have complained by the bloated size and speed of Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser, and Chrome would appear to be aimed at such people. Even though Internet Explorer has been criticised for it's size, loadup speed and security vulnerabilities, as of 2011, it still retains (in the region) 55% of Web browser usage.

Chrome retains the layout and features found in the majority of popular Web browser. However, Chrome has developed it's own unique features, some of which are listed below.

Themes: The appearance of Chrome can be easily altered.
Tabs: A list of your most visited websites is provided daily, for quicker browsing.
Omnibox: A mulit-use box, search queries and Web page addresses can both by inputted.
Incognito Mode: You can surf the Web without your browsing history being recorded.

Many online reviewers have welcomed the release of Google Chrome's, noting that it has many useful feature, but, as of 2011, it does not appear to be a direct threat to Internet Explorer.
