Ebooks is short for "electronic books" (writing that
can be downloaded or transferred by some other means and read offline
by an e-book reader), which you can download, buy and read on the
Internet. The term e-book is as often misused as it is used. The
term e-book applies to electronic book readers, known as slates,
as well as electronic book titles. An e-book reader is a hardware
device (or in some cases, software) that allows reading of books
stored in electronic form.
