Back Orifice was created by the Cult of the Dead Cow and can be classed as a trojan horse program and remote administration tool. The aim of the program is to gives system admin type privileges to a remote user by way of the computer's Internet link. This basically means a hacker can have access and control another users computer.

How it works,

• Back Orifice can be disguised as a component of practically any software installation.
• It can also be attached to other files or programs or run on its own.
• For it to work Back Orifice must be run by itself or the program it is attached to.
• After it is run that system now offers easy access anytime it is connected to the Internet or over a network.
